Lukomir is a village below the Bjelašnica Mountain, the highest altitude settlement in Bosnia and Herzegovina with 1,495 m above the sea level. The village has preserved its ethnical look and is visited by numerous tourists because of its authenticity and the nature surrounding it. This village can be reached from the direction of Sarajevo, and also from the direction of Konjic. The village belongs to the municipality of Konjic. Everyone who climbs high ground above the last houses in the village will be stunned by the magnificent view of the long ridge of Visočica Mountain, whose edge is stretched steeply into almost 1,000 m deep gorge of Rakitnica River. Lukomir is known for its traditional clothes, and women still wear knitwear items as they were wearing several centuries ago.
